It operates in two segments, Technical Services and Site Services. The Technical Services segment collects, transports, treats, and disposes hazardous and non-hazardous wastes for commercial and industrial customers, health care providers, educational and research organizations, other environmental services companies, and governmental entities. It offers physical treatment, resource recovery, fuels blending, incineration, landfill disposal, wastewater treatment, lab chemical disposal, and explosives management services; and CleanPack services, such as collection, identification and categorization, specialized packaging, and transportation and disposal of laboratory chemicals and household hazardous wastes. The Site Services segment provides environmental site services to maintain industrial facilities and process equipment, and clean up of hazardous materials. Its services include confined space entry for tank cleaning, site decontamination, large remediation projects, selective demolition, spill cleanup, railcar cleaning, product recovery and transfer, scarifying and media-blasting, and vacuum services; and used oil and oil products recycling, and polychlorinated biphenyls management and disposal. This segment also focuses on industrial cleaning and maintenance project services, such as chemical cleaning, hydro blasting, liquid/dry vacuuming, sodium bicarbonate blasting, line cleaning, boiler cleanouts, steam cleaning, dewatering, and onsite material processing. As of December 31, 2008, it operated a network of approximately 100 service locations, 6 incineration facilities, 9 commercial landfills, 6 wastewater treatment facilities, 2 solvent recycling facilities, and 8 locations specializing in polychlorinated biphenyls management and oil storage and recycling, as well as 20 transportation, storage, and disposal facilities.
