RESTON, Va., July 31, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- OrthoCareRN is very excited to announce the release of an industry first: ``Transitional Physical Therapy'' on DVD. OrthoCareRN has experienced rapid growth since inception in 2005 and it has been through widespread support that the company has been able to address the deficiencies of in-home physical therapy by providing a focused approach to therapy patients' needs.

Over the recent months, OrthoCareRN has been developing a unique experience for patients who exhaust their physical therapy benefits through Medicare, as well as private insurance. Dr. Terry L. Whipple and OrthoCareRN, Inc. are now reaching out to the many patients who have the misfortune of being told that continued therapy will be an out-of-pocket expense. Many do not return to full function or remain in need of assistance to motivate their independent recovery. In addition, many times a surgical candidate can benefit from physical therapy prior to surgery to aid in his or her impending recovery. Also, some patients never return for physical therapy as they weigh an important economic decision: return to full function at a significant personal cost or remain debilitated.

Transitional Physical Therapy is an instructional DVD designed to motivate, instruct and encourage a return to independent function. It can also be used for pre- and post-surgical muscle strengthening and conditioning. Additionally, it is a valuable reference for chronic sufferers in need of refresher exercises.

Terry L. Whipple, MD and OrthoCareRN, Inc. have jointly developed a comprehensive home therapy program to include two important objectives:

 1. Professionally produced, user friendly DVD
 2. Effective, economical physical therapy

In many situations, patients are given exercise illustrations depicting the therapy needed. With that as a baseline, pre-market focus groups overwhelmingly supported the DVD format of tutorial.

Initial roll-out includes a Knee DVD, a Hip DVD and a Spine DVD. It is a sensibly priced product, and addresses patient concerns about exercise form and correctness.
